“I am delighted that Esther Youd will be the new chair of AMRCW. Esther has been a staunch supporter of the Academy over the last three years, has a great understanding of the healthcare landscape in Wales and will provide the strong professional leadership needed as NHS Wales implements the new NHS Plan. The medical workforce is core to care delivery in Wales and the royal colleges ensure that high professional standards are the norm. The medical voice of Wales should be influential and heard, not just in Wales but as part of UK discussions as well. The Academy has an important position in shaping the future of healthcare in Wales”
